Lentils Have Begun to Sprout!

To read my first post on sprouting lentils, click here.

Sprouting Lentils

After I had soaked my lentils over night, I remembered to rinse them often throughout the second day. By the end of the second day my lentils had expanded to twice the size.

Not it's the third day, and they are starting to sprout! Only two or three more days and I will be able to eat my lentil sprouts in salads and on sandwiches.

I've never had sprouted lentils before, but I know I like alfalfa sprouts. And because I'm not a huge fan of a lot of legumes (I like lima beans, lentils and black beans but not many others so far...) I'm excited to try these because of the many health  benefits of eating legumes. If these work out, I plan on sprouting other beans to try

Please take note - From what I've read, not all beans are safe to eat raw such as kidney beans

I suggest that if you too want to try these to do your research first from trusted sources.

Also, I have read that some people can't seem to eat different kinds of sprouted beans, seeds or nuts, and some people can't eat any at all. I guess they have different effects on different people? Although, from researching many different sites and reading different forums, sprouted lentils seem to be the most favoured type.

I don't know, but I like to try new things so I guess I will see if my body can handle them! And I don't think I will have Sidney eat them this time round. Maybe when she's older? At least she's having fun watching the process of them sprout.

I figure as long as I keep rinsing them often, they should be okay for myself.

Thanks,
