Day 31 Blog Challenge - Portrait ans Final Thoughts

31 Day Blog Challenge - March

Final Thoughts:

This was the first blog challenge I have done and I had a lot of fun! There were days when I thought I wouldn't get my post up in time, but even with everything that's been going on here I've managed to keep up with it. It's been a real help in making me post regularly and be more open on my blog.

I met a lot of super cool people, got a wicked blog design by Laura over at Likely Lola and was forced out of my comfort zone, which is something I have been trying to do more often.

It's crazy how fast this month has gone by, and how quickly this blog challenge has become a regularly part of my day. I even have a bunch of new blogs to follow and look forward to checking in on all of the wonderful ladies I have met.

Thank you Tiffany for hosting this blog, and thank you to everyone who has been reading my blog and commenting for the past month!

Thanks,

Visit Us at the Bloomin' Earth Festival!

I have some exciting news.

We’ve signed up to be vendors at the Bloomin Earth Festival this year!

The Bloomin Earth festival is an event to celebrate Earth day by offering handmade goods, recycled and upcycled crafts, vintage treasures and provide Eco-friendly information.

On top of having vendors sell their wonderful items there will also be a clothing swap where you can bring a donation of clothes you no longer want and pick out some new clothes. It costs $5 plus a shopping bag of donations to participate, but leftover items and a portion of the cost will be donated to the Anselma House (for women and children escaping violence). So that is pretty awesome! I might just drop off some children’s clothes without getting new clothes, because we have bags full.

There is also going to be recycled crafts that children and their parents can make together. Sidney is going to love that!

This will be our very first time as vendors at a festival, but the good news is that it’s a family oriented festival and Nick, Sidney and my niece Faith will be joining my mom and I for the day.

We’ll be selling items from Little Shop of Treasures and Amity Arts and Crafts.

The Bloomin’ Earth Festival will be downtown Kitchener, Ontario along King St. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Have you ever done a craft show or vintage sale? Do you have any tips or advice?

Thanks,

Day 30 Blog Challenge - Favourite Ice Cream Flavour

31 Day Blog Challenge - March

Sidney loves strawberry ice cream simply because it's pink!

Favourite Ice Cream Flavour

After french fries, ice cream is my favourite food! I love ice cream a lot! I don't know why it's so good, it just is.
  • Vanilla ice cream is perfect for cake or pie.
  • Mint chocoate chip taste amazing.
  • Apple pie ice cream flavour is genius.
  • I love ice cream in waffle cones.

One thing I really don't care for is soft serve ice cream, like what they serve at Dairy Queen and McDonalds.

What's your favourite ice cream flavour?

Drawings By Me

Drawing used to be one of my favourite hobbies. Throughout elementary, and then junior high I spent almost all of my free time drawing. In high school though, I hated art class. I hated being told what to draw and paint, and how to do it. There was no freedom in it and so my love of art dwindled away.

During last summer though I got back into drawing through an art program and came out with some pretty decent stuff. I'm not saying I'm some brilliant artist, but considering I haven't done much drawing since 2006 I would like to think that I did alright.

Day 29 - Favourite Time of Year and Why

31 Day Blog Challenge - March

My Favourite Time of Year is Autumn

I absolutely love the fall time.

  • The weather is perfect; it's warm, but it's also cool.
  • Some days you can go out in your shorts and sandals, and the next you get to wear a comfy sweater.
  • I love the colours in the fall; red, orange, yellow and brown.
  • The sounds of leaves rustling past in the wind
  • Halloween is an awesome holiday, and it's also the day Sidney was born.
  • I always get this great feeling in the fall. The feeling that great things are going to happen, that there are going to be huge changes in my life. I think it goes back to school days and the excitement of starting a new school year.
  • The smells of vanilla, pumpkin and cinnamon.
However, summer is definitely next on my list but even with all of the wonderful things that come with summer, autumn will always be my favourite time of year.

What's your favourite time of the year and why?
